Charles Moore

Charles Moore was born in Ireland in 1727. At the age of 23, he moved with his wife Mary Moore to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Between the years of 1760 and 1764 they both continued down the east coast finally landing in Spartanburg, South Carolina where they would eventually settle and start Walnut Grove Plantation. Charles Moore and Mary Moore had together nine children that helped carry the history of Walnut Grove Plantation. Charles Moore passed in 1805 and was buried in the family cemetery on the plantation grounds alongside his wife and several other family members.
